For The Record Friday
What you are seeing is mold! Hype Hair posted a pic on their blog site showing this unfortunate situation of an unknown woman who left her weave in for over 6 months and the weave grew mold. Yikes! And I quote, “Hairstylist Robin (@prettyma216) recently shared a photo of a sew-in weave that grew mold after being installed for six months. According to the caption, the stylist suggests not to rock a weave longer than 60 days.” Ewww and ewww! As a result, the unknown woman had to cut off the remainder of her hair. So, for the record, your weave and locks or even those who keep their braided extensions in their hair for an extended period of time, PLEASE keep in mind to wash hair and thoroughly rinse hair and dry hair! Also, use tea tree oil (a natural anti-microbial) to help keep locs and other extended hairstyles clean and to prevent mold.
Men and Women, let's be clean. I say that with love. MuAh & CiAo! @lofanaturalista
