I was able to
interview my friend and it was difficult but only because he was so modest and
found it difficult to talk about himself. LOL, go figure! Handsome, healthy and
modest. I was excited to learn more about what got him started into this
business and why. Mr. Miller stated “I had a drive to work independently.” He
also felt like there were not any gyms that facilitated the programs that he is
interested. I then inquired, so just what are your interests?
1.
High
interest in functional training.
2.
Using
different approaches (no cookie cutter training)
3.
Having
proper and effective tools for training
His
philosophy he said, “supports his interest…Your body is a finger print” so
using cookie cutter methods may help you somewhat along the way but no one
approach helps everyone. He believes that all different types of workouts are
useful/important and they should all be incorporated vs just using one type of
workout regimen ( high intensity, running, Zumba, etc.) He went on to discuss
that training should be done, “from the ground up, which means that I won't use
fixed trainings, but identify each individual's alignment and use that
information to tailor make a workout for that individual.”
With this philosophy
in mind, Mr. Miller is motivated to keep moving forward. He didn't want to give
up on it (his personal training goals). A lady once told him, 'you finish what
you start." And that became important to him and personal training and
helping people is really important to him.
To conclude, Mr. Miller shared that his intention about him and his business is
educating people the best he can with organic theory and helping people create realistic goals for themselves. “It's not just about being a personal trainer… everyone doesn't need a personal trainer..” (he added) “but my job is to give people an honest assessment regarding their health and that's what I advocate.” He recognizes that this business is not just about increasing transactions, but about that individual's well-being and creating awareness even to other trainers.
