For persons who exercise more than 3x's a week (use this regimen if your hair isn't in a braided style)
*** If your hair is in a braided style, wrap your head tightly with your workout wrap and take wrap off after your workout and shower. Let hair sit out beforefixing edges of braided style and rewrapping before bed***
If you have hair long enough to twist. I would suggest twisting your hair and exercising with your hair in the twist and pat dry head if you sweat a whole lot, otherwise, take a shower with no shower cap (do not wet head/hair) and then pat dry hair and cover twists in bonnet after spraying with an oil mixture of your choice)
*Oil mixtures I've used (Water & Olive Oil)2 parts water, 1 part Olive Oil (add lavender, rosemary or lemon for scents) I've sealed ends after working out with jojoba oil and JCO (Jamaican Castor Oil)
If you have short hair that cannot be twisted or if you rather wear your hair in twistouts or wash/gos and you sweat alot, it is best to wash your hair every 2-4 days for twistouts and obviously daily for wash/go. And by wash I mean co-wash. Shampoos take away much of the needed nutrients from hair, scalp that is used to keep the hair and scalp moisturized. You do not want your hair being stripped of the much needed nutrients your body creates. I would suggest Wen (online) and Az I Am (Sally's Beauty Supply Store). I have used Jane Carter Solutions moisturized and pudding the moisturize my hair and scalp AND I use it in my client's hair as well and they work for nice bouncy twist and twist outs.
Lots of reading, but this is what works for me. Hopefully, it works for you as well. Taa-taa for now. Feel free to comment with any questions or even other ideas you've used while working out.
