Hair Essentials - Natural Hairstyles for Girls Part 2

This week is a short post. Last week I made a post about natural hairstyles for girls and today's post is like Part 2. My other sister did my other niece's natural hair in a braided style appropriate for a child and I thought it was good to share it. Keep in mind when braiding that the best products to use are the best products that work in your hair! The products I find useful in mine for braiding is Nature's Best (green in color; sold at Yes Organic Market) and Jane Carter Solution's Nourish & Shine product. I love her products! Our Natural is Beautiful. Let's take care of it!

Here are the pics for this post:

Hair Essentials - Natural Braided Updo (Professional Natural Hair)

Morning, Morning, Morning! I am so excited to make this post today featuring my girl, Rachel Boo. she is rocking a recently done braided hairstyle. I took pics of the sides and front, but forgot the back. The back is just braided up toward the donut. It is really simple and a great style to workout out with. Just tie your head and go! The braided top knot is becoming a fad in natural hair styling I see, but it has definitely been done for years. I'm waiting for Marley braids to get stale, so I can put them in in the Fall, tee hee. At any rate, here are the pics I took right after I redid my girls' braids. I think these pics are super cute. :-)

See my IG @Livlyhood for recent natural hairstyles. :-)

Hair Essentials - My Natural Styling

So I was inspired by this natural style that I saw online, plus I wanted to add bangs so I did it. It's pretty simple to do.

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Styling Time: 30 minutes or less (took me about 30 mins between chit-chatting and lol'ing)

To Prep, I gathered all the hair accessories/essentials needed for the do. I also detangled my hair with my moisturizer and wide tooth comb, made the sections out and secured with a roller clip, before styling each sections separetely. 4 sections/ part a section of hair on the top in a triangular shape for a bang on ur preferrable side (secure with roller clip), part the hair down the center from the tip of the triangular shape of the bang to the nape of the neck (secure with roller clip), then part the hair on the side ur bang will hang on from the tip behind the ear to the center part (secure with roller clip) and secure the remainder of hair with a roller clip as well.

To Style:
1. The section under the bang, remove roller clip and make about 5-7 braids in medium thickness from the front of hair to the center on middle top of head. Twist the ends of the braids and secure again with roller clip upon completion.
2. Remove roller clip from the side with braided hair and french roll, tucking ends of hair under and rolling towards the top of the head and securing with bobby pins. (DO NOT USE BOBBY PAINS IF THE PIN DOES NOT HAVE THE BLACK TIP BECAUSE OTHERWISE THE PIN WILL PULL AND TUG AT HAIR AND CAUSE DISCOMFORT ON THE SCALP)
3. Remove roller clip from the other sde of the center part and french roll and tuck ends under and roll towards to top of the hair. See second pic. Secure french roll with bobby pins.
4. Remove roller clip from banged section, make a slack twist at the ends of the sectioned hair and tuck the twist under the base of the banged section hair. This would create a puff bang as shown in first pic, u can secure the twist in braided hair.

Boo took the pics and was happy with the results, so was I. I know he thought I looked crazy as I started styling my hair. :-)
(Detangling hair allows for hair to become more manageable.

And i love my white pants, especially after Labor Day! ha. Natural styling all the way. :-) Live on purpose ladies, now to concoct another natural style, until then...MuAh & CiAo!

Hair Essentials - Professional Braided Style

For this client, I have been doing braided style that are away from the neck/back and face and being swept into a pony tail or frenchroll/mohawk look. Some braided styles are for play, others are for work. This is a very suitable hairstyle for work. A very simple look with minor details and clean finish. Sometimes doing too much is really just that, doing too much. This client has also had an inch or so of growth. I wish my hair retained growth like this...oh and she has healthy hair. Anyhoo, enjoy this do.

Hair Essentials - Braided Styles 3

These are a couple other do that I did over the weekend. I was FINALLY able to style my girl Melissa's hair. I do have to do an updo style on her. I'm excited about doing that  because her face would fit the style I'm thinking about, excited already!

Enjoy these other Labor Day weekend do's!

This last lady (2-toned color hair) was on the phone planning to attend a wedding with her braided updo style. While the first lady (my naturalista sista with the nice pitch black hair) didn't realize she was getting proposed to. Soooo many exciting things happening this weekend. Both ladies made lovely models. Hope you enjoy these styles just the same. Also, a wonderful product I used for edges is the Hick's edge control. It can be found at your local beauty supply store.

Hair Essentials - Braided One sided MoHawk

This week has been extremely busy! I need a vacation. I had to get on really quick just to share pics of a do I recently did this week though. I also will give a hair and skin update next week. I have been washing my hair and putting it in twists and rocking my twists in a twisted style or as a twist out depending on what i'm getting into. At any rate, enjoy the pics.

Hair Essentials - Natural Hair/ Braided Do

I did this look about 2 evenings ago. It's a very simple style again and can be used for anyone going to work and want something off their back and neck. As fr me and my hair, it is finally the 28th day and I cannot WAIT to wash my hair! It's been sucha  long time coming. I may do a rinse of the Aloe Vera Juice to help with my dry scalp and then I'd do the conditioning treatment after I wash my hair. Switching things up a bit. I'm still uncertain of how I'm going to style my hair for this wedding on Sunday, but I'm going to work it out, whatever it may be. Enjoy the pics!

Hair Essentials - Braided Wedding Updo

Update on my hair: I'm still rocking these twists in my hair. I'm prob not going to take it out tomorrow or this weekend. Probably next week. I honeslty don't remember when I put them in, but I'm still getting compliments on them. go figure. I'll take a pic of em and post on the blog. I may wear em as a twist out and pin up over the weekend though. We'll see what happens. If the weather is too dry, probably not though. My evening regimen has been working to keep my twist nicely moisturized without being super oily. Loving this!

Well I wrote this blog today to show the pics of my friend's hair I promised. I only put one up, but you couldn't really see the do. Here's a better picture of the do I did to my one girl's hair. I thought this was sooo cute. Hope you likey:

Sweet do, huh! I love it! and she styled it well. Naturalista! Anyhoo, that's all for now. MuAh & CiAo!

Hair Essentials - Updo Braided Style

Visited my sister in ATL to see her graduate from SCAD. Figured, why not get a free hairdo out of it. I knew I wanted a style that I can't do easily, so I go a braided updo. Here are before and after pics. I also trimmed my hair up to 3inches for some parts of my hair. My hair needed it. Nothing's better than healthy hair. I don't want long hair that's damaged. Not cute. Here are the pics. Hope you enjoy.

Hmm, I should have prob gotten one of the 3 people that were there to take the picture for me verses twisting my neck in awkward positions to get the pic. Well, I got more pics to add when I do another cute natural style. Until then, my hair will be in this style for at least 10 days if not longer. Today is Day 4.
