Hair Essentials - Textured Fro without Twist-Outs!

As promised I wanted to show you or rather explain how to rock a textured fro. Here's the product I used.
Jane Carter Solutions (JCS) Curl Defining Cream (can be foudn in Target & Whole Foods)

Step 1: I came from a wash, blow dried my hair on medium heat at medium level with cool shots if necessary (wasn't encessary this time around)

Step 2:  I used my Carol's daughter heat protectant moisturizer. (shown to the right found in Macy's)

Step 3: Next I separated my hair into about 8 sections and twisted each section, leaving the 8th section untwisted.

Step 4: Then, I applied a generous amount of the product into my clean, blown out hair from the roots to the tip, working the product into my hair. I split each section into about 2-4 parts and applied product to each part.

Step 5: I repeated that step for the entire head. Use smaller sections if you have thicker hair.

Warning: You do not want to apply too much product into the sections because then it leads to product build up and the created curls look white and pasty with product as a result.

If this occurs anyway, take a little water and run the hair and product along the strand from the root to tip to remove the extra product. Here were my results.

Day 1

I pulled the sides of the hair back towards the middle of the Fro to create this look. Check out my videos on youtube to see how this can be done. I used one long hair clip on each side. Took me very little time to do this style seeing that I had washed my hair and blown it out the night before.

MAKE THIS STYLE LAST LONGER: (Low maintenance style)

This is Day 4 of me rocking the do. To keep the style night after night, take pins out from sides and put on my satin cap at night, allow steam to penetrate hair during shower the next morning, pull down on the curls to lessen shrinkage, repin on sides, or pin in other ways if you want to be creative or just rock it as a fro and head through the door. One of the easiest Fro styles I've had!

*** My hair always feels moist because I used enough product to keep it moisturized. FYI, weather has been overcast the first couple days and I noticed that my hair seemed more soft and moisturized those first couple days. But, hair still feels nice and moisturized without me having to re-apply product or re-twist my hair.

Hope you have similar results. Live on purpose! MuAh & CiAo!
