Recently, I launched the Black History Month Contest
in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela.
There is an amazing package given to the winner! See previous blog post.
Entry is free and I am excited about what we can all learn this month about the history of black hair and black hair products. It's not too late to begin doing your research and building a timeline. Create your very own timeline that depicts the History of Black Hair. It doesn't have to be perfect, but the more informative, the more points earned towards winning this awesome prize. Read more for details on how to enter.

1. Each entry must consist of a timeline displaying the history of African American hair covering at least 3 decades (1 pic per decade will suffice, more pics give more points!) if you cover over three decades, two additional points will be added to your overall score.
2. The details of the timeline you create is your choice. For example, the date of a particular African American hairstyle (in its natural or unnatural state), an icon that represents that style, a fun fact about hair products used in African American hair, or any like details will earn you one pt for each detail.
3. The entry with the most points win! There is only one entry per person. The colors you use, the font and other elements used to create your African American hair timeline has free reign!
4. Address for prize must be within the 48 United States, Puerto Rico or U.S. Virgin Islands.
This is an opportunity for your creativity to shine! There is no age limit and you can work as a group, but keep in mind that there is only one prize and how you split the prize is totally up to you.
Entries must be submitted by February 25th and the winner will be announced on February 28th. Your entry must be submitted as an attachment (JPEG file is best) and emailed to niaimbue@gmail.com. Microsoft Publisher can also be used to create an informative and creative hairline. Just save pictures found with interesting facts and insert the attachment on a blank publisher document. You can manipulate the size of the pictures and everything!
