Body Essentials - Effects of Black Pepper on the Body

Okay, so I heard about a year ago that black pepper has all these negative effects on your body, but noone told me what these effects were. Growing up, my fam was hesistant on using black pepper too for some thigns, but we used it still. After having a conversation with someone else about it recently, I decided to look up these negative effects. What I found was this:

Possible Negative Effects
1. According to at least one study, black pepper may cause an increase in parietal secretion (of hydrochloric acid - the acid abovementioned as an aid to digestion) and pepsin secretion and a loss in potassium. (I actually red this study and it seemed legit, I conduct research myself, or use to in past years, so I know)
2. Also, there is a chance of mucosal mircrobleeding and even gastric bleeding due black pepper (due, at least in part, to the above-stated secretions).
3. Piperine may actually be carcinogenic (although some studies show that it is anti-carcinogenic...) and it might even have negative effects on sperm and interfere with reproductive processes.

*Obviously more research needs to be conducted*

Positive Effects
1. Alleviates hemorrhoids
2. Alleviates gas
3. Alleviates constipation
4. Promotes urination
5. Anti-bacterial effect
6. Anti-oxidant effect
7. Stimulates the breakdown of fat cells (HELLO, amazing benefit, just saying)

All in all, it's still inconclusive. I myself have not had any issues with using black pepper, but I also eat alot of bananas (filled with potassium) and now I'm taking my vitamins, or at least try to on a regular basis.
So, consider all the information here and make your decision. Overseasoning is always an issue I'd say.

Hope this was informative. Live on Purpose! Muah!
